We set the stage for energizing work. Introducing NII, a new office furniture brand for global release.

On Tuesday, June 3, ITOKI Corporation will launch NII, a new office furniture brand, in Japan with a first collection featuring products from four globally-acclaimed designers and scheduled for sequential release.
“We Design Tomorrow. We Design Work-Style.” With this mission statement, longstanding Japanese office furniture manufacturer ITOKI has been seriously considering the idea of work for more than 130 years, proposing more fulfilling ways of working through the creation of spaces, environments and places. At a time when everywhere from the home to cafes, hotels and travel destinations are used for work, what role should the office play? With this question in mind, there is a need to redefine and evolve the office as not only a comfortable space, but an irreplaceable place for work.
Ingenious furniture that nurtures creativity and imagination
With the concept of “Ingenious design,” NII is a furniture brand that transforms the office into an attractive and vibrant stage. Working closely with designers active in both Japan and around the world, NII develops innovative collections with quality, comfort and craftsmanship in every last detail. The ingenious designs are a source of energy and inspiration, creating magnetic spaces where people naturally gather, connect and inspire one another. By spurring thought and collaboration, as well as encouraging new challenges, work turns into a form of entertainment and the office becomes a stage where working people play the leading role. Moving forward, NII aims to become a driving force for this change, building the stage upon which design creates new value. NII is a new brand created to bring this vision to life. Under creative director Hirotaka Tako, ITOKI’s strengths in “Tech × Design Based on People” have been brought together and expanded to accelerate its design strategy. As a global brand breaking new ground for offices, NII will present the future of work to an international audience.

BITMAP

This sofa has a unique shape formed by two rectangular blocks, one large and one small, fused along one edge. The smaller block seems to float in space, giving impression of levitating and introducing an element of surprise. This smaller block can be used as a side table, armrest, or even as a seat, accessible from all sides. Although this sofa is a single piece, the design allows multiple pieces to be fitted in a modular layout, enabling communication in multiple directions, whether side-to-side, face-to-face, or in diagonal positions.
DESIGNER’S COMMENT
-
BITMAP challenges the way we think about lounge seating. Instead of dictating how people should sit or gather, it creates an open framework for exploration. The modular, pixel-like forms can be nested, stacked, or arranged in unexpected ways—allowing users to shape their space intuitively The elevated perch adds another layer of function, acting as both a seat and a surface for work or interaction. By removing the rigid structure of traditional seating, Bitmap encourages a more natural, adaptable way to engage with space—whether alone or in a group. It’s about flexibility, play, and rethinking how we inhabit our environments.

CONNEXA

The skeleton-like frame contributes to this table’s organic impression while supporting the translucent glass tabletops with its points. Despite the simple structure, multiples of the table can be combined and expanded limitlessly with the selection of four different glass tops and five types of frames. Its unique presence transforms a space whether used as a standalone piece or in a connected series. While evoking the shapes of nature, plants, and living creatures, its subtle appearance invites people to open their minds and engage in conversation.
DESIGNER’S COMMENT
-
CONNEXA is a playful and poetic approach to gather around a table for sharing ideas. The levitating structure ignites the power of conversations as its graphic and organic shape evokes both nature’s forms and the human skeleton, while presenting itself as crisscross components that enable the full system to be extended. The clear top, a lake when independent, a river when connected, is visibly splashed by the structural supports in the shape of dots that recall blooming water lilies. All poetry to enable human connections and fluidity in residential, hospitality and workplace fields.

PIGNA

Characterized by its two components: a divider and a sofa, this furniture gently shields its seating from view with distinctive shingled panels while allowing light and air to pass through. The collection offers three models according to the level of privacy desired: a Low version with a height that provides a view of the surroundings, a Middle version that offers a strong sense of seclusion, and a High version (divider only) with moderate screening. The seating area of the sofa is wider than standard to ensure comfort. This seating encourages communication by embracing a sense of privacy within while maintaining a connection to the surrounding space.
DESIGNER’S COMMENT
-
PIGNA is a modular system that reinterprets the wooden shingle, a distinctive element of AMDL CIRCLE’s design language. By defining pathways, creating scenic backdrops, or enclosing informal spaces, the divider shapes spaces and atmospheres. The walls form a “U” shape, embracing the sofa. The result is a welcoming micro-architecture, ideal for workspaces and conversation areas.
Individual elements can be freely arranged to create pathways, rest areas, or decorative partitions. PIGNA is a dynamic, ever-evolving system: a new way of shaping work and social spaces.

PARLAMENTO

This modular furniture is available in four units of different heights, with the aim of creating spaces where various individuals can interact. The sofas and tables, evoking rippled water and timeless nature, are available in both low and high versions. Ergonomically designed, they facilitate interaction and information exchange in all directions from any position in the space. Flexible combinations create a sense of unity not only in boardrooms but also in reception and common areas where hospitality is valued.
DESIGNER’S COMMENT
-
PARLAMENTO is inspired by the sculptural forms and inviting comfort of 1970s lounge seating. Blending the sensibilities of hospitality and workplace environments, the design offers a versatile and dynamic approach to seating that adapts to the fluidity of modern workspaces. With a wide range of configurations and premium materials playing an important role in distinguishing this collection, PARLAMENTO achieves a level of sophistication not typically found in modular furniture. Designed for the way we gather, work, and connect today, it is a system that feels at home in both professional and hospitality settings—fluid, inviting, and effortlessly modern.
